Committee on Social Interaction Bat for Joint Celebrations
The Committee on Social Interactions has been thinking of activities that would create and enhance camaraderie among homeowners of our village. Then, one day in June, a group of eleven ladies from Phases 1, 2 and 4 thought of watching a movie and dining out together. The event was made more significant when two ladies in the group footed the bill as their way of celebrating their birthdays, though rather belatedly.
Not only that, they went on to have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake at Mrs. Linda Robbins’s home. After nine (!) hours of sharing stories, jokes and words of wisdom, each went happily home, wishing and hoping . . . “sana maulit ito.” Now we hear that young couples from Phases 5 and 6 are spearheading the concept of quarterly celebrating their birthdays too. Ahh . . . the pleasure of being in the company of friends is indeed one way to relax and be happy!
Why quarterly and joint celebrations, you may ask?
Getting together now and then is one way of catching up on each other’s lives. The more celebrants, the merrier and . . . the more affordable besides!
We hope that having quarterly joint celebrations, from birthdays to wedding anniversaries, will encourage more social interactions among us.
For those interested, the Committee on Social Interactions will facilitate the necessary introduction to the right person in-charge.
By simply getting together and enjoying each other’s presence, we may be able to build and strengthen ties which may well lead to a constructive community transformation.
Friendship Clubs…anyone?
