Message from the Chairman

I take this opportunity to greet all of you a “Happy New Year”.

We have hurdled a difficult year, and we are confronted with new challenges. That is why your board is very much in focus to provide solution to problems that threaten to derail the growth of our village.

Your officers cannot do this alone. This is not a nine-man show but a responsibility of all to act jointly for the betterment of the subdivision. Responsibility lies with each of us. Let me cite a favorite African proverb: “It takes a village to raise a child.”

If we have to provide a healthy environment to raise a family, then we should discharge our obligation properly and promptly. I mention this because there is a threat of old problems visiting our community again – irregular water and power supply.

Your incumbent officers were able to bring down arrearages in membership dues and water bills from more than P200,000 to under P100,000. Our target was to reduce this further to zero, but the delinquency has gone past P100,000. This might result again in scheduled water service. This will also put on hold our project of putting more street lights because we cannot pay for the additional power cost.

We do not wish to deprive anybody of water service but we have no recourse but to cut the supply to homes of delinquent members. Anticipating an increase in crime incidence, reducing the number of our street lights will work against the interest of all. That is why everyone must cooperate by paying their membership dues and water bills in full and on time.

Let us face the future together boldly and resolutely. We need to join hands to be stronger to weather the adversities posed by the economic crunch. Let us stand united for we will surely fall if divided.
